My lack of posting over the last few days can be attributed to two things: a visit from the family and the flu.
Oh yes, it finally happened. Somehow *cough* redline *cough* I caught the influenza virus, and it sidelined me for a good couple of days. Much to my chagrin, when I started to become symptomatic, my father said "did you get a flu shot?"
Me: "Ewww. No."
Dad: "Well...I think you have the flu."
Me: "It can't be the flu...we have deadlines and scene study; it can't be the flu."
Oh but it was! I actually thought I could go to work on Monday. My boss told me to go home before I infect the whole building. I made it until noon and then literally dragged myself home. I slept until my roommate returned home later that evening. Thus, the decision was made to not go to work the next day. A wise choice on my part. If you don't count the two excruciating hours when the apartment below me was blasting Coldplay (I couldn't make a stink about that one, since when my toilet broke, it leaked on them), I slept the whole day.
Well, I did watch Two Days in Paris, which I highly recommend. Other than THAT, I did sleep the entire day.
I also made the decision to not go for a run on Wednesday. I can't really breath right now, but hopefully that'll be cleared up by Saturday so I can run for seven miles. On a side note, whenever I get sick, my mother launches into some diatribe about how I'm not eating enough (wha ?) or how my immune system has been compromised (like Langley?) and the like. For the record, I am eating some raisins right now.
Well, I went back to work on Wednesday because it is, after all, deadline time. It was a rough day. You know that feeling when it's hard just to sit upright for two minutes? Yeah, that was me for the entire 7 hours I was working. I ended the day by once again barely making the trip home and falling asleep upon arrival.
I'd like to do the same today, but I've got rehearsal with my scene partner after work. Good times, yo. I think our scene might go pretty well, and it has all to do with him being a good actor and little to do with me. I've always said that I'd rather have a scene partner who was much better than me.
