Logistics...I've got some

Well it would seem that the Lord heard my prayers and adjusted the weather to a more acceptable temperature. Three cheers for God and all that. The weather was so nice, in fact, that I just had to go for a run yesterday. I was up early in the morning to cross train (by the way, watching youtube clips of Boston Marathon preparations is highly motivating) and when I got home from work I just had to run.

I figured that I'd need to anyway, since I'll be camping this weekend and therefore won't be running on Saturday. A couple of the Lakefront Angels are getting together early Friday morning to knock out our 8 miler, originally scheduled for Saturday. Even though it's a cut-back week, I wanted to keep to my 5 days of running per week schedule. Thus the extra run on Tuesday and Thursday this week.

But the weather yesterday really got me moving. Instead of an easy run, I ended up doing more of a tempo run with a negative split, too. 9:45's averaged on the way out, 9:30's averaged on the way home. It felt really good, which I definitely needed.

Next week, I have a race in the evening! It's the annual Bastille Day 5K in the West Loop. I've been looking forward to it for a while now. True, the real Fête Nationale isn't until the 14th of July. I guess they thought more people would participate if it was a bit earlier. There is a small problem though. I have class that night from 5:45 to 7:30 PM, and the race starts at 7:30 PM. French class, actually. I hate skipping class, especially since I'm the one paying for it. Furthermore, I'll be skipping class the following week because I'll be in Ohio again for another wedding. Even though it'll be cutting it close (I hope there's a bag check at the race...), I'm just going to inform my teacher (who happens to be really, really hot), that I need to leave early. Using calculus, I have determined that I need to leave around 6:45 in order to get to the race in time to change my clothes and stow my stuff. I hope this works. I also hope I can explain this to my teacher en français, bien sûr.

Yay! I'm going camping too.

Have fun....and a nice 8-miler. Glad the weather is improving.

Maybe you can wear your running gear to French class?

Have fun camping!

Oh, and, yeah. You can have as much of this rain as you would like. It has cleared up today, which makes me so glad. It's just that even though we have sunny patches, it rains every day! Ugh.

Well, if he's really hot, wear your race gear to class so he knows you're a runner. Preferably something low cut. I'm sure he'll have more admiration for you than he already does. ;)
