That's my new record of running! I ran for 50 minutes and 10 whole seconds on Saturday morning. Even though it was a weird run, content-wise, I'm still happy I got through it.
I ended up running on my own because I got up late, and was hoping to complete 45 to 50 minutes total. I didn't have high hopes for the run, because I was tired and it was warm out. The Lakefront path was really crowded because some group was having a walk-a-thon, and CARA was having some sort of training run with their Road Scholars program. Both groups were pretty irritating for the same reason: no one had any clue about path etiquette. There were people walking four across. There were people running like they were James Bond. It was a little frustrating, especially when you're trying to focus on your form and cadence.
When I reached the water trough in Lincoln Park, I decided to turn around and run back North in the hopes of avoiding the crowds. I was about 10 ish minutes in to my run. Then I saw a couple of guys I know (the boyfriend and husband of two of the Lakefront Angels). The guys told me the girls were only a few yards ahead of me, and probably turning around too. Sure enough, there they were! They convinced me to run with them back to Montrose, where they had started. They were doing an 8/1 run/walk, which I figured would be fine since I was recovering blah blah blah, and it was pretty warm out. I went all the way back with them to Montrose and then turned around and ran the whole way back to my home. I was pretty pleased with myself! Just about 5 miles of RUN! Some notes though:
1. Need to hydrate
2. Need to fuel before run
3. Need to be out in the warmer weather more often
Needless to say, I was very excited to run this morning. However, that run didn't happen because I didn't get any sleep last night due to indigestion. Yes, you can eat too much pasta salad.

Yay! That is great news. Keeping my fingers crossed for you! Recovery is a tricky process, but it feels amazing, doesn't it?
Awesome! Almost 5 miles is great. Glad your recovery is progressing well!!
Aside from the almost up-to-the-minute running reports (NOT)the other reason I enjoy your blog is to be reminded that one can, indeed, eat too much pasta salad (NOT):)
"Experge"...Ever notice how creepy it is that the verification word somehow relates to your post/ comment?
