Sick. Not Twisted.

Well it finally happened.  I've gotten sick for the first time this running season.  Right before the Turkey Trot, right when our mileage is building up.  I tried to head it off before I got really sick...

Tuesday was when I first started to notice that something was wrong.  So in the interest of not getting worse, I didn't run on Wednesday.  You have to understand, I've had enough upper respiratory infections throughout my life that I know when something is wrong and when something's going to get worse.  This is one of those times.  I had the Zicam, I had the orange juice...I was ready to go.  Yet, here I am, unable to speak and fighting a losing battle with mucus.

It's that gross.  Please feel free to recoil in disgust...I know I am.

I don't know what this means for the Turkey Trot.  I tried to run on Sunday in the Berkshires, and it didn't go well.  Partly because of the hills, partly because of my lungs.  I managed 3.5 miles instead of the scheduled 9 miles.  I'm going to not run on Tuesday or Wednesday in the hopes that my lungs clear up.  I'm more worried about the 10 miler on Saturday.

Bleh...I'm off to bed.
