Expo Time

Just a quick update before I head to bed. I went to the Expo to pick up my race packet and plan my route for the morning of the race. I don't know what's up with Mapquest, but it definitely gave me different directions than last year! This worries me because the roads will be closed tomorrow morning, so I need to figure out an alternate route...like now. So that's what I'm doing.

Back to the Expo. Once again, the shirt was way to large. Oh well! A wise blogger once commented that oddly-sized shirts are manageable. So I will manage of course. As I picked up my stuff, I noticed that Mr. Khannouchi was signing autographs and taking pictures! I didn't know he would be at the Expo, so I hadn't brought my camera. I did, however, get his autograph and talked to him for a while. He was so nice! We talked about the weather for tomorrow, and I let him know that I had a "secret goal" for the race. He said he didn't like jinxing his times either! I told him that I had been sick last year so I wasn't able to do very well in the race. Khalid smiled and said he's sure I'd do better this year. He'd see me at the start and finish.

Awwwwwwwwwww...it was so cool! If the former world record holder thinks I'll be okay, then maybe I will be?!
