I wasn't all that emotionally attached to the Superbowl this year because da Bears were not involved. It was nice to see the Saints win their first Superbowl though. I found this funny little prayer, created by Archbishop Hannan. Apparently, Hannan was asked by the then-owner of the team in 1967 if it would be sacrilegious to name the team "the Saints." Hannan said it was fine and was so excited that he wrote an official prayer for the team. One line of the prayer reads: Our Heavenly Father, who has instructed us that the 'saints by faith conquered kingdoms...and overcame lions,' grant our Saints an increase of faith and strength so that they will not only overcome the Lions but also the Bears, the Rams, the Giants, and even those awesome people in Green Bay...
I think that's hilarious. But what does this have to do with abs, you may ask. I'm getting to it, I promise. During my all-day food and booze fest with the exotic fish (don't worry, they received their exotic fish food. I drank Bushmills and watched the big screen in the basement), I wondered if perhaps I was eating a bit too much. I also wondered if this would affect my workout in the morning. Maybe I just wouldn't work out in the morning...
About half way through my plate of chili-cheese fries, I decided to let go of my death grip on the fork, save the leftovers for Monday, and go to bed. A food baby had still formed in my stomach, which made this morning's work out a bit uncomfortable. But I still was able to finish about 350 repetitions of some semblance of ab work. Go me. Or should I say, Geaux me.
And in other news, my knee still feels okay. Still haven't tried to do anything strenuous on it. I did ride the antique exercise bike on Saturday for a good 30 minutes and expected that to have repercussions later, but nothing happened. I'm still feeling good today.
I have PT tomorrow and Thursday at 7 AM, which may or may not be compromised due to weather. If I'm still able to go, then we're going to gradually add more running-related exercises to my regime. Keep your fingers crossed!

I too have a food baby... half a gallon of Carolina Winter Wonder, Whole Foods lasagna and pistachios... my run is in the afternoon. Hopefully it will wake me up a bit.
Way to go on the abs! I was supposed to do them, but the crawfish pie and king cake got the best of me. Oh yeah, and the hurricane's.
