Study Break!

Quick post before I get back to reading...

The weather is getting better. My runs are getting longer. But I'm proceeding with caution. Sadly, some of my bad habits have crept back in to my life, like not stretching as much. Foam roller and I are on a break. This can't end well, so I'm going to make a concerted effort to get back on the good-living track.

aaaaaaaaaaaaaaand that means I need a new pair of shoes, like, two weeks ago really. We don't get back until the 16th, and my loans won't be dispersed until around the same time, too. So I'm not working with a whole lot of cash at the moment. Thus, I will be waiting for new shoes, at least until I can make a payment on my credit card. Womp womp.

That said, I will be entering a local 5K this weekend. My awesome new friend/blogger/fellow TA MicaPie told me about it, and since she's an awesome runner, Imma do it. It'll be nice to "race" again, though I've no ambition of beating my previous 5K PR. We'll see how I'm feeling. I still have the over-arching goal of coming in under 2 hours for my next half marathon.

When's that? The Champaign half/full marathon is in April, and since I live in Champaign, that's a no-brainer. It's also pretty flat out here, so as long as I'm healthy and the weather is good, I think I stand a good chance. Now I just need to get my speed back up to where it was post-2009 Marine Corps Marathon.

Tomorrow morning, I plan on checking out the sweet gym here on campus. I will let you know how it goes! There's an indoor track, which is great for those crappy Winter runs...you know the ones, where it's too icy to run outside, but treadmills still blow big time? Yeah, those ones. I'm gonna get my tuition dollars worth. Holla.

À quelle heure est-ce que tu vises aller au gymnase demain? J'y serai à 6h30. (30 minutes de cardio, suivis des exercices de musculation).

...Si je me reveille à l'heure.

Je voudrais y aller à 7h du matin...30 minutes de cardio et des exercices de musculation aussi.
