Feeling Better-ish?

It's Wednesday and I haven't posted since Saturday. Oops...many apologies, of course, to the 3.5 people who read my blog. Nothing amazing has happened, but I got my runs in, so on to those...

Monday's run came at the height my what's-up-with-my-stomach and i-hate-migraines moment in time. I feared the worst, but told myself that I just needed to get the run in, log those miles, and I'd be okay. Luckily, I was able to maintain a 9:40 ish pace and get my 4 x 20 second striders in at the end. Just goes to show that low-balling everything you do in life does pay off. I'm just sayin'

Tuesday I was going to go for a double workout, but decided to run in the morning, and then cross train when I got home from work. The morning run wasn't bad at all, but something was up with Joanie Garmin. I'm not insinuating that I'm the Pace Master at all, but I think I have a general idea of when I'm on pace and when I'm waaaaay the heck off. According to Joanie Garmin, I was running close to 11:45's. Not that there's anything wrong with 11:45's but I felt like I was going faster...at least closer to 10's anyway. The pace began to gradually drop and by the end of my run, Joanie Garmin was registering sub-10:00.

I've been thinking about switching her back from average pace to actual pace. In the beginning, B.G. (Before Garmin), I used my stop watch, but because the mileage markers on the path aren't always reliable (they must have moved the 3.5 marker at Belmont at least 3 times by now), the stop watch wasn't accurate either. Then when I got Garmin, I noticed that due to satellite issues and having to stop for street lights, the pace would dramatically change. A friend suggested changing it to average pace, which ended up being a really great idea. Now I'm thinking I should change it back, at least for the long runs. Thoughts?

So back to Tuesday...I ended up not getting any cross training in when I got home that day because of the combined effects of The Cross Town Classic, bus-splashing, and taking over an hour to get home. I had a cookie instead.

Okay, okay, I had three cookies. Same thing, right?

One cookie, 3 cookies, yeah, all the same! I have advice on the Garmin since I'm just getting used to mine but I'll be interested to know what you find out!

Also, nice job on the 9 in 9:30!

Sorry, I got nothing for you. I'm still in the B.G. era.

But you're in marathon training, so you deserve a few extra cookies. Go for it, girl!

That's not very nice to call me a .5. I don't feel like a .5. ;)
