Today the weather is, ohhh shall we say, brisk? It's reminiscent of London, that's for sure. Only without being as awesome as London.
I'm not complaining though, even if my first sentences suggest otherwise. Because the minute I start to complain about the weather, it'll be 90 effing degrees with 50% humidity. And I'll be dead. Or at least, unable to run and thus endeth my Bootleg Summer of Quasi-Speed. Trust me, I will take cool and rainy over hot and humid any day of the week. Any. Day.
In fact, I'm a little excited about getting in a run this evening in the rain. It's almost guaranteed to be super-fantastic. Maybe even speedy. As promised, I was up early this morning and got workout #1 in. As long as I run this evening, I'll have logged my first official two-per-day workout. Rejoice and be glad! During the last marathon training cycle, the idea of two-per-day workouts didn't occur to me until the latter half of my training. But it agreed with me and definitely help me get in the extra miles. So, I'm going to ease myself into it earlier this year.
Last year, my schedule with two-per-days looked like this:
Monday, Wednesday - Run in AM, Run in PM
Tuesday, Thursday - Cross train in AM, Run in PM
Friday - Run in AM
Saturday - Long run
Sunday - Blissful rest
So I was running six days per weeks. I wish I was a bit more bad-ass, but for me, getting in three miles in the morning and then maybe making it to five miles in the evening, was a pretty big deal. Since I'm a little faster and a little stronger this time around, hopefully it'll be more like four miles in the morning and six or seven miles in the evening. Shocking, I know. You can totally stop being impressed.
As a side note, I finally figured out what Yasso 800's are. Thanks, Runner's World. Now I have more math to do...

Hey, I'm impressed! Two workouts a day -- that's a lot. To me, anyway.
Get that run in this evening!!!
I love Yasso 800's. I always know what my goal is and what time I should be at when I cross each 200 mark. I love numbers, in that sense.
I'd be happy to do the math for you!

I AM impressed, no kidding! I can barely make it 5 days a week. Any one who slaves through 6 days of running, and even manages to get 2 additional runs in the week, is my hero!
you are awesome!
the weather is so weird here too... its usually mid 80s at least and its only been low 70s and cloudy. although i am not complaining :)
