Saturday's long run was a cutback, so it didn't feel too long at all. We only had seven miles scheduled, which is what some people run in a day as a short run. Nevertheless, I was up and ready to run at 4:30 AM. Part of me never wants to get up that early...4:30 AM is crazy talk!!! But in order to get a proper meal, as well as allow for the trains, 4:30 AM is a necessary evil. Definitely not conducive to having a good run.
However, I ended up feeling great during the run. Our pacer is a friend of mine that has been running his whole life. He's a really gifted pacer, who has never finished more than 15 seconds off his predicted time. Fifteen seconds! That sounds pretty damn good to me. He kept us right on track during the whole run.
This week I'm going to start adding in double workouts. Mondays seem to be the best day to start the two-a-days because I'll have had Sunday to rest completely. Also, Mondays I definitely don't have extra things to do in the evenings. So we'll see how I'm feeling at 5 AM tomorrow morning.
And last but not least, I'd like to say bonjour to all (read: two) newly de-cloaked readers. Bonjour!!!
