I had a good run on Sunday in NaperTHRILL. The winds were terrible, and since I was running on the prairie path, there was nothing to shield me from the winds that did blow.
Oh they blew alright. They blew big time.
And it happened to be so cold out that the tears froze on my cheeks. I seriously had to pick them off with my finger nails. Ewwwwwwwwww...
And usually the path is very soft. It's not paved, it's not gravel, it's limestone, I think. However, because it was so cold and because it had rained something fierce the day prior, the path was both hard and uneven. I had to keep my eyes on the ground in order to avoid stepping in a rut and twisting my ankle. The run was definitely an exercise in focus.
However, I managed to run sub 10's again...9:45 to 9:50's actually. I'm pretty pleased with that! I hope I can keep it up. If I'm able to run 10's at the Palos Heights half-marathon in May, I'll be so very excited.
Sadly, I've yet to receive the March issue of Runner's World. It better be in the mail today. Along with April's issue. Don't mess with me, Runner's World...I'm broke.
