The Calm before the Half

You know that list I made yesterday? The one with stuff that I wanted and/or needed to do today? Yeah, I didn't get much of either list done. I was able to:

1. Pick up my race packet
2. Curse the Cubs/White Sox/Red Sox/Cardinals fans who choked up the CTA today. Bastards.
3. Get some bananas
4. Post a blog
5. Eat a good dinner

I was not able to:

1. Nap
2. Do laundry
3. Get a free smoothie from Starbucks
4. Stretch
5. Relax

So...yes. Stuff got done and other stuff didn't get done. I will be doing a show this evening, so we can add that to the list. I didn't make it to mass, which I feel horribly about, but hopefully will be able to go tomorrow evening after our matinee is over.

Well, I didn't get to spend too much time at the race expo today because I had to get home fast. I mistakenly offered to drive my roomie to the airport. I'm glad I did, but I really could have used that extra time to get more things done. However, I did find a few things to make me smile at the Chicago Hilton and Towers. It appears that the CDC is using a different kind of timing chip for the race. It looks like a thin piece of plastic.

The chip is that white thing on the side of my bib. It goes around the laces, like one of those shoe ID's

I also purchased two funny coasters.

Well, wish me luck tomorrow...I'm still a little nervous, but the weather is supposed to be pleasant and I was able to get enough water and food today. So I should be okay :)

Good luck! (I'd say break a leg, but that's probably not great for a runner.)
