Proud Member of the Human Race

Or Nike's Human Race, that is...so after the negativity of today's earlier post, I thought I'd post something nice and positive this evening. Today I went to Niketown on Michigan Ave. (since it's really close to where I work) and picked up my race packet for the Nike Human Race that'll take place next weekend. I must say that I'm intrigued by the concept...people in 25 different cities will be racing this 10K at the same time.

And everyone will be wearing the same damn shirt...

Well with different numbers, obviously. The shirt is your bib! And I think different cities will have different colours. Chi-town has red because we look good in red. And the race is in the evening, which will be different. Plus, we get to finish in Soldier Field (Go Bears!!!) with a concert from local hooligans, Fall Out Boy. Since I don't have to work on Monday, much drinking will be had.

Well, I'm gonna call it a night. 16 miles tomorrow and the weather is either supposed to be hot and humid, or humid and rainy. Excellent options, yes.

Break a leg! (Or don't... bad for runners, probably... not that it's great for actors, either)
